The
Dukinfield Cyclists' Club was founded in 1885 and has around 80
members ranging from age 10 to over 80. Although the club's roots
are in Dukinfield, we have many members who live in the Stockport
area (we even have 2 members in New Zealand).
All day club
runs
take place every Sunday. They start at 9.30am for the "A"
run (i.e. the mad mob), and 10.00am for the "B" run (the
old gits),and are generally well attended. During the summer
months we also have evening "pub to club" runs at least once a
month, usually on Wednesdays.
Later in the year, there are various special events.
There is a club
night at least once a
month, usually held at The Crown Inn, Heaton Lane, Stockport.
We have a number of racing members (both male and female)
competing in time trials, mainly on Cheshire's "J"
courses. The BAR competition and Short
Distance Handicap are, both, closely contested!
